one-eyed jack
i'm now relying on my left eye to see cuz i just bumped my right eye yesterday and created a tiny tear on my cornea. it was very scary because when the clothes bounced back and hit my eye i know it had somehow scratched the cornea due to the pain. when the pain subsided and i opened my eye, i couldn't see anything!! that was the scariest moment of my life and i thought this blindness could be permanent. the GP i visited didn't allay my fears either when he quickly referred me to the A&E ward saying that it was unusual that my vision was so bad (i could barely make out the first line on the eye chart.). anyway it's much better today so i suspect it mainly had to do with the eyeball being distorted due to the pressure and affected my astigmatism.
i was practically waiting the whole day at the hospital because i went through A&E waiting for one and a half hours. then when i was my turn i was referred to the eye clinic and waited clost to 3 hours before an eye doctor could see me. turns out i only had a shallow cut on my cornea but it was right in the centre of my cone of vision which explained why i couldn't see. coupled with the bad astigmatism, i was blind in my right eye yesterday. only difference is that i could detect light. everything was a blur of lights. i kept missing steps and misjudging distance so was quite clumsy yesterday. i really missed having two eyes! if there are any weird words here, they're probably spelling mistakes as my left eye isn't too good either. for some reason the astigmatism has really gone up and i can't see too well even with glasses on. adelene agrees that it's probably because it's now being overworked. i guess i shouldn't watch TV or read but what else is there to do when you're confined to home?
